Online Counselling & Therapy — UK & International
A confidential, non-judgemental space to reflect, reconnect with yourself, and build the resilience to move forward.
Who I Help
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, struggling in your relationships, questioning your identity, or simply feeling stuck — reaching out is a courageous first step.
I work with adults online, both individuals and couples, across the UK and internationally. Many of my clients are navigating high-pressure professional lives alongside deeply personal challenges — something I understand from over 30 years working in HR across various demanding industries.
“Without good mental health, it is very difficult
to thrive in life.”
— Roy Lam
About Roy
Before becoming a full-time counsellor, I spent over 30 years in senior Human Resources roles across banking, aviation, luxury retail, and hospitality. I saw every day how people were expected to keep performing — to stay composed, capable, and driven — even while carrying enormous personal burdens.
That experience taught me something important: without genuine attention to mental health, it is very difficult to truly thrive in life. It’s what led me to retrain as a therapist.
I graduated with a Master in Social Sciences (Counselling) from the University of Hong Kong in 2017, and went on to volunteer as a counsellor working with clients facing family difficulties, relationship challenges, LGBT-related concerns, depression, anxiety, and career development issues.
Originally from Hong Kong, I relocated to the UK in 2021 and now work with clients online across the UK and internationally. I have a particular understanding of the cultural pressures that many East Asian and immigrant communities face — including the tension between family expectations and personal identity.
My approach is integrative and tailored to each individual. I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Bowen’s Family Systems Theory — combining evidence-based techniques with a warm, genuinely non-judgemental presence.
“I look forward to providing my support to you and helping you reflect, connect and grow.”
